Biography
Dr. William Ampomah is a Research Associate at Petroleum Recovery Research Center at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech), Socorro New Mexico. He is an Adjunct Faculty to the Petroleum Engineering Department at New Mexico Tech. He received his PhD and MS degrees in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Tech in 2012 and 2016 respectively. He is a co-lead in the simulation working group for the US DOE funded Southwest Regional Partnership on Carbon Sequestration project. Dr. Ampomah is the Program Chairperson for Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Roswell Section. His research interests include developing multi-phase fluid flow numerical simulations, optimization of CO2 storage and oil recovery modeling, conduct geomechanical studies to investigate caprock integrity for CO2 storage and risk and uncertainty quantification.
